It has been hosted in OnWorks in order to be run online in an easiest way from one of our free Operative Systems. Now, usual questions: - optimized app and/or GPU app - android app - screensaver :-P. This is an application that can also be fetched from. - attempts to find your BOINC data without anticipating a default location.- looks only for BOINC data, not the client which creates it.- is no-graphics, none are used beyond what XScreenSaver is already using.- explicitly avoids libraries not included with default Linux or Python.Should work in other Linux if you can run these three items. Or similar, Diet BOINC may be able to replace it with If the Boinscr module in XScreenSaver is showingĪ black screen with the words 'boinc not running' I'm just not sure how.Diet BOINC is a no-graphics, lightweight alternative XScreenSaver module I did have BOINC running in my secondary monitor since the December beta of UltraMon though. It must have been a graphics driver update. Unfortunately reverting to an earlier version of UltraMon isn't fixing things. I see that I can limit the primary screensaver to one monitor by checking this. On a secondary monitor this doesn't happen.ĭo you have the 'preview mode' option checked for the screen saver assigned to the primary monitor? If I run BOINC on the primary monitor there are times when it will freeze up and force me to reboot to get my primary monitor back (or VNC in from another machine and kill BOINC). I think I will revert to the previous beta. Now all I get is the primary monitor's screen saver across both monitors. I had BOINC working on a secondary monitor just fine until I upgraded to the latest beta (3.0.2). Will try out the settings for the BOINC saver, as it still seems to loock up the system if there is another saver on the secondary monitor.īTW, the overcool Hal900 screensaver can be found here: OK, will have to wait for the next version. but it doesn't work on dual monitors, as stated on the developers website. The HAL 9000 screensaver is now in a version with preview. Regarding the BOINC screen saver: do you have the 'preview mode' option checked? Does the screen saver work fine if you don't assign a screen saver to the secondary monitor? If the screen saver doesn't have a preview mode, or only displays a static picture, it won't work on secondary monitors via UltraMon. UltraMon uses the screen saver's preview mode to run it on a secondary monitor. I would like to know if what I am trying to do is not possible :-( or if there is a workaround (I am particularly wondering why the greyout of "preview mode" on the secondary monitor).ĭang, forgot to add that the 15" Philips is connected to the VGA port. I can get both screensavers to work normally on their own as standalone screensavers and I can also get the supplied screensavers from Vista to work each on a screen with UltraMon. The BOINC screensaver works, but I have to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to get back to the desktop (it is enough to get to the selection of the taskmanager and then to leave it, no need to stop the screensaver application) I tried to uninstall an re-install Boinc but I see the Boinc logo saying 'screen saver is loading' but it loads only the task, non the celestial sphere with constellation and other objects. I get only (and not even that) the prewiev picture on screen, not the screensaver.Ģ. The screensaver was working only when I installed boinc but when I restart the computer it does not work. The secondary monitor screensaver "preview mode" is activated and greyed out so that it cannot be unselected. The trouble is when I try to setup a combination of the BOINC screensaver on the main monitor and the HAL9000 on the secondary.ġ. The Taskbar and Move to Monitor functions are working perfectly. Secondary Monitor: Philips 150B (15" LCD) Main Monitor: Hyundai N220W DVI (connected to the digital port) I'm having a problem with some screensavers. Can someone help out to update the list of V6 working screensavers I've haded QMC, Leiden Classical and Spinhenge but certainly others are also working. It does monitor and display basic BOINC activity in a minimalist display. So, no, it isnt graphics-rich as they say. A module without BOINC GUI graphics support is what we have here. Makes using multimonitors so much easier. BOINC COMMANDLINE USERS: If you are running BOINC command line, as I do, a screensaver module which calls graphics functions which arent running isnt so useful. Post Reply Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Screensaver issueĪfter using UltraMon I found I can't live without it and have registered. You are here: Home > Multi-Monitor Resources > Forum
